The Hollows sits on the North Shore of Lake Travis in Jonestown, about 40 minutes from downtown Austin. The drive is straightforward, but there are three things worth knowing before you set off.
The route
From downtown Austin, head north on MoPac (Loop 1) or US-183, then west on TX-1431 through Cedar Park and Leander. Stay on 1431 as it drops toward the lake; The Hollows is signposted off it in Jonestown.
From Austin-Bergstrom (AUS), budget about an hour. The airport sits southeast of the city, so you cross or skirt Austin first. Leaving between 4pm and 6:30pm on a weekday will cost you noticeably more time.
Search the right thing in GPS
“The Hollows” alone returns unrelated results across the country. Search “The Hollows on Lake Travis”, or better, use the exact property address on your booking confirmation.
The last stretch is Hill Country road — winding, and dark at night with no street lighting. It is easy driving in daylight and requires more attention after sunset.
Stop for groceries on the way
This is the single most useful piece of advice on this page. There is no full-size supermarket in Jonestown. Cedar Park and Leander, both directly on your route, have everything — and adding a supermarket stop to the drive in costs you fifteen minutes rather than a forty-minute round trip later.
If you are arriving late, this matters more, not less.
Arrival
You will receive access details before arrival — there is no office to visit and no keys to collect. Your door code activates at your property’s check-in time.
Bring the confirmation with you rather than relying on signal; mobile coverage is patchy in places along the lake.
Getting around once you are here
A car remains necessary — the North Shore communities are spread out. For moving around inside The Hollows itself, a golf cart rental is genuinely worth it: carts are street-legal on community roads and reach the Beach Club, marina, and Smokehouse without taking the car out.
